Mobile Marketing Poised to Make an Impact in 2014 [INFOGRAPHIC]

Mobile Marketing Poised to Make an Impact Going Forward

Technology is ubiquitous. Everywhere you look, people are using smartphones to connect with friends and tablets to watch videos or browse the web. Mobile technology has come a long way over the past couple of years, and with these devices becoming more sophisticated, it’s no wonder why many marketing experts are predicting that mobile will overtake desktop either by the end of this year or next. WedDAM Solutions prepared an infographic on 25 telling statistics that point to mobile’s dominance lately, with eye-popping figures such as:

  • 1.4 billion smartphones are being used worldwide. That is roughly the equivalent of one our of every seven people globally.
  • 57% of users will not recommend a company if their mobile site is poorly designed/developed. That’s a pretty telling fact as there are a plethora of companies that have not even realized the significance of online marketing, let alone a good mobile user experience.
  • The average American spends an average of two hours per day on a mobile device, which accounts for 8.3% of the day….and that’s not even taking into account the amount of hours dedicated for sleeping.
  • 25% of all online searches are conducted on mobile devices, which is why it’s even more important to implement an effective search engine optimization strategy than ever before. With such limited space for listings on smartphones, making it to the first page or even the first couple of listings for targeted keywords can have a highly positive impact on ROI.
  • By 2015, it’s expected that mobile marketing within the United States will help businesses generate $400 Billion in revenue compared to $139 Billion in 2012. That is a projected increase of over 200%!

The rest of the infographic exhibits the power of mobile marketing in other areas such as social media, predicted mobile advertising budgets, and application development, giving marketing professionals the ammunition they need to encourage executive to buy into a mobile strategy in 2014.
